Can I make?

All day long I have been updating my blog-it has been a little while.  Anyway my title "Can I make?"  One weekend about a month ago I was talking to my 81 year old Granny E. and asked her "I wonder if I can make a wallet?"  And I went online and found a blog that showed me how.  http://darnkat.wordpress.com/quilted-fabric-wallet-tutorial/

So I took her example:

My 4-H teacher would have a fit-I make my own patterns out of "BROWN PAPER".

 I love denim!

for the inside

I had to share this picture-no reason

 Pins

 Button

Scrissors

Fusible webbing-I ironed it on one side of the denim.  The inside of the front.

 The helper "Chloe"

On the bottom pockets-you accordion fold the folds.
I used an old gift card to guess on the size of the pockets.
First I ironed it all down to make the creases stay in place.
Second I topped sewed each crease and folded in the middle to then sew in the middle.

Top pockets-turned them wrong side out and then put them together.
I had some old plastic in my stash that I cut out a bigger than my drivers license and then stitched it down.

Showing running down the middle

Inside before I put them together.

 Magnetic Snap

The Ruffle is my favorite.  I was never a girly girly in my younger days.  But I love them now.
This was so easy.  The 2" strip and then zig zag down both sides, in the middle you use Dental Floss.
Zig Zag over the dental floss and then you can pull it without trouble. I then stitched it on top of the denim.

 Both sides pattern down.

Then stitched 3 sides together and pull back thru-

I did use 2 pieces of cardboard -next one I going to tape 2 pieces together =4 pieces.

The finished project-inside

and the front.

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. Have a great weekend.

Again I sit here and wonder where the last few months have gone.  I have to admit I am horrible at blogging-I don't know how you can blog every day.  I just don't have it in my.  I applaud the ones that do!! Clap, Clap.

So I went up in first of April to my families farm, once it was Grandparents Farm.  Not much to it..But it is out in the middle of no where quite the phones don't ring much and NO TV!!!  Over the years the hen house and  wash house had to be taken down.  But the main parts are still standing.  So that weekend I took my camera and took pictures going up there and coming back home.  I was so windy going but I got some really good pics.  My Little Brother and his girl and course My Niece (the dog) Bela and my dad.  All my pictures were outside so I missed alot of mom she mainly stayed inside.  So maybe next time we all can stop and get family pictures.  Any way I wanted to post few of my favorites.

February Snow

So this weekend in the Texas Panhandle is was suppose to be cold (not called).  About in the 20-30 degrees.  My plan was to clean my SCRAP area. I haven't actually made anything since October.  Yeah last year.  I have been sewing and working 40 hours or more a week.  Which I still love my job.  I just is alot sometimes during the week extremely fast pace all day long.

Any way so this weekend I have been trying to clean out and organize my scrap corner.  So I was working on it last nite till about 630pm when I friend and her little girl wanted to go shopping with them.  First if you really know how I am I don't like to go after dark and I hate going to the mall.  Her little princess cried "NO" she really wanted me to go. So I went and had a great time.  And I got to have coffee from my favorite place in town.

So I am doing the same thing today -when the phone rings this afternoon, braking me out of  zone.  I looked out the window and Holy Crap its Snowing and alot.  So of course I had to put my house shoes and grab the camera.  Here are some of the shots I took and I did take them right from my own front porch.  I hope you like them.

I know that I haven't been a very good blogger at all.  I guess you can say that I tend to forget about it.  But maybe I will get better for the new year.  Wow it still doesn't seem possible that is actually 2012! I still have problems at work typing the date every day.  Any whooo...I really don't have much to report or to show.  I have my other love affiar and I know alot of other people have found it too. Pinterest.. Nothing much else to say.  I love pinning and getting alot of new ideas.

Well it that time again...

Ok I am actually sitting here and posting.  I completely didn't post the whole month of November, no reason. As I sit here I can't believe that yes I am about to write the word-CHRISTMAS. I still can't believe that it will be here sooner than I want.  Wow.  It seems as a child it wouldn't come fast enough and now that I am an adult it comes way to quickly.

Anywhoo-I haven't been posting or actually making any cards or scrapbooking for a little while.  I have got my sewing groovy back.  I will try to post some of the stuff on later.  And I have been on "Pinterest" I am completely addicted to it.  My craft brain is on overload now.  So many craft ideas and other fun stuff that I don't know how I will get it all done.

Anyway I really don't have much else to report.

Trouble Trouble Toil and Double....

Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.

I have been overloaded with craft project due to what Pinterest.  As I know most of ya'll have found.  I have joined the dark side for share.  Anyway I just wanted to post a few pics of my project. I can not take for credit last year I found this blog- http://christybuonomophoto.blogspot.com/2010/10/bubbling-cauldron.html (check it out)  I had so much making mine I made two.  I used small cauldrons I got last year.  The only suggestion I would prime the foam with a spray can of primer and then just paint with green.
Have fun.
 Start with old newspaper.

small cauldron-but you can do any size.

 Crumple newspaper

only fill to the rim.

Now the fun..just go around and around like you are making an ice cream cone.

 Before it drys

First layer dried.now do the second layer

Green, green and more green
I applied at least 4 or 5 layers and I also bought GLOW in the Dark paint

and don't forget to make it over the sides.  It oozed over.

I didn't really use a brush until the finally touch up.

And now the drum roll..............
Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble Double.
